Merry band,
I am new to this list, but I come with a purpose: to find an
original New Yorker from January 29, 1955. I have a close friend
who is a big fan of Salinger, especially "Franny" and "Zooey." I
managed to get a copy of the issue with "Zooey" from '57, but I
am still searching for the issue with "Franny."
Anyway, I am hoping that someone out there may be interested in
selling their copy of this notable work, or know where I should
look. If you are interested, please drop me an email with
information on what sort of shape the magazine is in and how
much you'd ask for it. Alternatively, perhaps someone could let
me know where to look in terms of rare book dealers that may
have this. Price is not really a major concern.
Here is where I've already looked, in case you are interested:
1. The Manhattan Rare Book Company
They don't have the magazine, but they have a great 1st edition
of the book: http://www.theworldsgreatbooks.com/franny.htm
2. The New Yorker Back Issues
Boone, Iowa 50037-0684
They are sold out of that issue.
They had the '57 issue with "Zooey," however.
