Re: so what books are you currently reading?

to combine this conversation with the other one going on involving punk
rock...

I'd recommend "Bridges with Spirit", by Adam Voith.

He's started his own publishing co. - tni books (tnibooks.com) and
everything they have put out so far has been great. It was so refreshing
when I first read a good book written by someone my own age, (in my case,
early 20's), who grew up in the same world that I did. Something about not
having to translate ideas across generation divides. Not that I ever
minded this, I enjoy it when I am aware of it. But for the most part, it
was an aspect of reading that was just always there. And one day, a couple
years ago, I picked up a book and this guy was writing about being an
adolescent, driving for hours to see punk shows. It hit me, this book was
about myself. These were my experiences. This was my life. It's as if I
had been traveling in a foreign land for years, and suddenly I stumbled
upon someone from my hometown. It's not like he has any "new" concepts or
ideas on life. It's not as if I enjoy him more than the foreigners I've
come to know. It's just refreshing. For me atleast. I has anyone had a
similar experience?

The second book I found that did the same thing was "Angelhead", though I
don't remember the author.

Good thread, Levi. Tell me what you think about Tender when you finish
it -- I've been wanting to read Fight Club since I've seen the movie, so
I'm especially interested in what you have to say about that.
