I'm currently working my way through The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and
Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. I just recently was recommended
Vonnegut, and the first book by him I read was "Cat's Cradle", and I enjoyed
it, so now I'm on to his most famous(?) book.
About Fight Club...Palahniuk I feel is a really great writer. I have read
most of his stuff (with the exeption of one, called 'Survivor', which many
Palahniuk fans consider his best), and his writing only gets better. He has
very strong nihilistic views (as you have all probably felt through watching
Fight Club, if you've seen it), and they come through in his writing in
waves...You'll be getting deep into his story-line and he'll hit you with
something really hard, and in your face. He is a very graphic writer as
well...not for the weak-hearted. ;)
