You're both talking about deconstruction like it was a neato literary
trick that inverted meaning, though...which is what it often becomes,
but I think Derrida has a lot more to contribute than that. I think
what John said in his first reply to RS's post is the most important
thing to keep in mind: Derrida is one of the most recent in a long, long
line of western philosophers and is trying to critique everything that
went before him.
Trying to understand that critique is much more interesting than playing
tricks with texts.
