Donald P. Costello's "The Language in The Catcher in the Rye" is widely
anthologized. It appeared in that wisonsin studies in lit devoted to
salinger but I can't find my dissertaion to check pub dates. I"m looking
at 3 book that have it though...

Hager (Heath, l963)
J.D. Salinger and the Critics edited by Belcher and Lee (Wadsworth l962)
Salinger edited by Grunwald (harper 1962)
