Exactly. I've never been to Elsinore, but I love Hamlet. Never been to Verona (nor had Shakespeare) but I love Romeo and Juliet. I had been to New York before I read Catcher, but it would have no bearing whatsoever on whether or not I liked that. Isn't that why we read? To reach the places we will never or could never go to within our imaginations?
