Will,

I think that's a really interesting point. Even in Franny and Zooey,
when a religious idea a major focus, he deals moe with a human
spirituality. I always get a tremendous buzz and feeling of
sprirituality from reading the really beautiful stories, which I have
never gotten from anything which actually detailed strictly religious
ideas (although maybe the fact I don't belief in God has something to
do with this). S. definitely knew what buttons to push :-)
