The Hotchner book, Choice People, offers some insight into a slice of
JDS's life, but it's such a blow-hard book it is quite off-putting. I
had a better sense of who JDS was (and with pictures!) in the Lillian
Ross book from last year.
Salinger merits an entire chapter; it's got a tone of sour grapes to it,
at least the way I read it.
