 Will et al.

It is disappointing that you (Will) did not make it on the show. I would
love to have heard what you had to say and what you sound like (I have my
own theories on the latter). I wanted to ask if there are any other
Bananafish who did make it on the show. Also if anyone happened to hear
and/or record the broadcast if they could share that material with others.

Swimmingly,

Amber

Dear All, I've just learned that I won't be part of the show after
all...I'm married to a journalist so I can't complain, but I will say
that I put a good deal of time and effort into helping Matthew Dodd of
the BBC and he didn't indicate at any time that I wouldn't be part of
the show.  Oh well, I didn't feel great about my contribution and I did
think I would say it better in my afterword to Letters to J.D.
Salinger.  At least I can sleep late tomorrow, and at least I see the
benefits of being a scholar instead of "prince" of publicity.

And of course, this happened on Independence day, so I will continue the
tradition of telling England what to do with their tea and BBC, will
