please please please please don't let that aol.com user be performing some
sort of psychological test as to see how people would react if someone
logged onto the internet (especially onto a salinger mailing list, of all
places) and *pretended* to be salinger. because i'd have to react
impolitely, in any case.  [an' it goes a little somethin' like this....]


i'm sick to death of random emailers coming out of nowhere to send some
completely purposefully ridiculous message to get some sort of rise -
because, as you know, they are so very necessary and useful - out of the
people that actually do have insightful and interesting things to say.
this isn't some damned haven for psychological research study, you know. 
and if you really are mr. salinger, well, i'm sure you understand my
annoyedness.
