> Can ANYONE name a film adaptation of a book (that you had read at the > time of seeing the movie) that was satisfying? The Accidental Tourist is one. Chilly Scenes of Winter is another. I liked the first very much; I am mad about the latter (which was also released under the title "Head Over Heels"). The Big Sleep also comes to mind; in spite of the weird cuts required in 1945 Hollywood, it does justice to the Chandler novel. Oh, and To Kill a Mockingbird. I can't resist either the movie or the book. I had read all of these before seeing the movies made from them. --tim o'connor
