Will, I wish you hadn't stopped... Yeah, Matt would have been buzzing by now, and I sorely miss him on the list, too... Sorry for being disjointed but I've just got my hands on the June 23-30 issue of New Yorker on India after an obscene amount of air-mail charges paid by a benevolent cousin, and am simultaneously (well, not quite) attempting a letter to the editor of an Indian magazine for pitching into Rushdie...Ah, I digress as usual and forget sometimes that the ramble goes to the full list. All I wanted to say for now was that I haven't yet been able to get my hands on Elizabeth Kurien's book, but from what I seem to recall, she was probably reported to be based in New Delhi itself where I am...I would love to read her book after all that I have read about it --- and heard about from you. One of the local booksellers who's more of a friend now is very upset with my JDS obsession and not too willing to get anything on him when he says that even books *by* him scarcely manage to turnover fast enough..Oh, well...
