Since you can backtrack, and meet the train at the end of the bridge, you can also go another fourth of the length of the bridge in the other direction which would put you directly in the middle of the bridge when the train reaches the first end of the bridge. In the time that it takes you to run the last half of the bridge, the train travels the entire length of the bridge. Thus, 1 length of the bridge, divided by 1/2 the length of the bridge, equals 2. In other words, the train is travelling twice as fast as you. Mike
