When new stuff in the 70's began to bore me I discovered jazz: Coltrane and the pantheon. If you want something wild (rather than suggest '75 electric Miles stuff) check out the Sign of Four on Knitting Factory Records - Pat Methany and other N.Y. musicians "take it to eleven" with a wasps nest of collective improvisation - Dark Star or Cream's Spoonful meets Coltrane's Ascension - Metallica don't hold no candle to it (the last crack is the latent football hooligan in me I suppose) Only one other thing to say. I know all about Ani Difranco and I 'fess up: haven't listened to her yet, it's a crime. - Ed (hey, isn't this supposed to be a listserv about JDS and lit? - pleading guilty as charged) _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
