For right now it's more pressing that I read well and read widely since I'm getting ready to start a PhD program. I said what I said about Jung because he seemed to have fewer pretenses about the "scientific" (thus, supposedly objective) nature of his approach and less scruples about calling it and treating it like a philosophy -- which is all Freud's theories ever were, however much he claimed to base his theories on scientific reasoning and methods...
