Despite the opposition, I am going to have to cast my vote for the pronunciation similar to "Zoe". This is how I first pronounced it and how I will probably do forever. One of my friends tried to start a debate whether or not it was "Zoo-ey" or "Zoe", but it is truly up to the perception of the reader. About "Emu" - I've actually never heard someone pronounce it any other way than how it is supposed to be said. The strange fact is that I live in Texas where practically everyone (often including myself) butchers pronunciation of all words capable.
