Callaghan pounding the shit out of Papa in a Paris boxing ring.... Scott
Fitzgerald was the supposed time keeper, but he was so shocked when
Hemingway hit the ropes that he forgot to watch the clock.... Morley made
mincemeat out of Mr. Macho.... Does this mean I'll have to re-read THAT
SUMMER IN PARIS in the light of Callaghan's latent homophobia.... You know,
I'd be really miffed if people started applying this sort of reductionist
psychobabble to every serious artist in the world. Salinger, of course,
would provide a fertile field for such silly speculations--dare we mention
Mr. Antolini?
