At first I thought, he's got to be kidding.... Kafka? Chekov, perhaps, but
never Kafka.

Then the kidneyboy comes back with what looks like a specific citation. My
god, it suddenly strikes me that it's been more than a quarter of a century
since I've even opened Kafka.... Could it be possible?

It's hell to be several hundred kilometres away from one's library! (And,
as an aside, Am I the only evolutionary leftover to contend that the metric
system is almost inherently un-literary.... Where--other than science
fiction--would "several hundred kilometres" sound more melifluous than
"several hundred miles"?) Fortunately, I've got copies of CATCHER and
WALDEN in most of the places that I regularly read--which means my office,
my home, and my cabin in the woods, which is where you'll find my library,
AND ALL MY KAFKA!

Could somebody who isn't similarly Kafka-challenged just now put me out of
my misery. (Any my apologies to you, kidneyboy, if this second posting from
you is, in fact, citing the final section of METAMORPHOSIS!)

Cheers,

Paul
