In reperusing your list of Caledonian luminaries, I notice that you failed
to mention Robert Adam (who, probably more than any other man or woman, is
actually responsible for the beauty of your capital) and Adam Smith (who,
probably more than any other man or woman) is responsible for the secret and
subversive Scottish take-over of the world!

....and then (to cite something perhaps just a little close to home) you
also failed to mention R. D. Laing....

Why don't you just lie down on my couch, Scottie.  I'll pour you a dram of
Bruichladdich, and we'll chat....
