I'm definitely with you on the early stuff from Rolling Stone.... which
means that my main exposure was most probably through the newsprint pages of
an absolutely ephemeral magazine.... (Is it true I once subscribed to
Rolling Stone?)
I actually also much liked Hunter's piece about Newport and yachting.... (I
can't remember what it was called, just now....) ...if only because Steadman
becomes a major character--Boswell to Hunter's Johnson.... Sancho to
Hunter's Quixote.... It's exactly THAT kind of a roller coaster!
And such luscious prose!
