I do need to add this--that I'm not engaging Scottie in a contest of which
straight man has more experience or insight into gay-bi-lesbian issues,
and I did use the word "civily" in hopes of a better response...I don't
want to seem like a rhetorical weeny and back down from Scottie, but I
think that our list is best served focusing on Salinger and so again,I 
apologize for reading scottie's post poorly and responding to it in a way
that was upsetting...my guess is we share mutual hopes and don't need to
count angels on a pin to see that,  will
