Kafka's "Judgement" vs. Salinger's "Bananafish"-- fight to the death

I just finished reading Franz Kafka's short story "The Judgement" and found
myself both baffled, and comparing it to Salinger's "A Perfect Day for
Bananafish". Both stories are remarkably similar and I was wondering if anyone
had any thoughts on the two.

First off, there is the link of the obvious end suicides of the two main
characters Georg and Seymour. The motives may be different. Personally, I'm
indecisive about either of the two suicides.

Also, both stories leave many questions that seem to hint to the idea that
there is more to the story. This is obvious with the other Glass stories but
are there more Kafka stories that deal with this family and the friend? Who
is this damn friend anyway?

I don't know...if anyone has any ideas please relay them to me....
