Remember too that virtually everything Vonnegut says is shot through --
sometimes twice -- with deep irony. So, I tend to give him more than
the benefit of the doubt; he loves to make PRONOUNCEMENTS as if they
were truly authoritative, when he himself is the first to admit that
they are as likely to be large socks full of horse manure as they are
truths.
