A FAQ is perfect for a band listserv for example (Where do I get Bootleg X, How tall is Billy Corgan etc etc) but on a list such as this, we are not posing answerable questions. Although I for one would be quite interested to hear the Questions and their answers! Q: Is Franny pregnant? A: Yes, with twins, which she names Waker and Seymour Q: Why did Seymour commit suicide? A: He was, as Muriel's mother correctly guessed, gay. He was having an affair with Carl Luce. and so on ... Yes, certain topics *do* come up repeatedly. But so too do new opinions and ideas on these topics, and that's why I'm on this list. The questions Salinger poses us with are like koans - even no answer is an answer, so if anyone of you can tell me what the sound of one hand clapping is, *then* I'll help with a FAQ.
