Some people have been talking about how it would not be good if only the government had the guns. Well, I live in iceland where nobody has guns except maybe rifles or shotguns for hunting. Why do ordinary people need guns? If you don't like the government, are you gonna go and shoot them? Do you think they will shoot you if you don't have a gun? Tyranny? Do you really think the government goes "Oh, I would like to pass this law to raise taxes but I can't because so many people have guns, they might not stand for it". The United States has the biggest number of guns owned by ordinary people. It's very easy to get a gun. The United States also have the highest murder and crime rate of western countries. Is this a coincidence? Maybe these two facts are not at all related, maybe it's like that whole big cigarettes-lung-cancer fraud? Yes, I like ranting on and on. :) Finally, a quote from some movie whose name I don't remember: -Guns don't kill people, people kill people -Yeah, but guns make it oh so much easier.
