It's not about Holden as a blurb or as a reviewing
point for someone else's book, but about how Holden is
the essence of adolescence. He rebels and wants to
join at the same time, he's a boy wanting to be a man
and a man wanting to be a boy...it happens all the
time.
It seems like such a male thing to think about how and
when it's ok to link to Holden (or J.D.). I just think
Salinger hit the adolescent nail on the head and that
Catcher has rightfully become an adolescent
touchstone.
