Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself to you all as this is my first official
day as a member of this group. I am a recent NYU grad and a devout fan of
JDS.

I stumbled onto this group quite by accident. After re-reading RHTRC
and Seymour:An Introduction, I felt my usual frustration at not having
more of JDS's work to enjoy besides the well-known published work, all of
which I've repeatedly read.

But this time was slightly different in that the Internet beckoned as a
place where I hoped to find something that would feed my insatiable
appetite. Happily, I found the Bananafish home page. Imagine my surprise
when the page finished loading and I found myself looking at a picture of
.....BUDDY GLASS! exactly as described in "Seymour." The dark eyes, the
fleshy nose (without the bend that Seymour's nose had, rending it almost
"aristocratic" in Seymour's opinion) the receding chin...I knew I'd found
a home.

I look forward to reading everyone's thoughts and sharing some of mine.

Cordially,
Peggy Jean-Louis
