speaking of which: does anyone else feel that Seymour was cheating with
his "double" haiku?  Isn't the point of the haiku to jam as much as you
can into 5/7/5 and yet make it as simple as possible?  I always felt that
it was Occidental hubris that allowed him to change the form.
   Of course, JDS is no poet.  That's why he never laid it down on the
page for us.  Thank god he didn't try.
