I like the film, I'm a big Dana Andrews fan so maybe I'm prejudiced. It bears little resemblance the the story, to the extent that it makes you wonder why they bothered paying JDS for the rights to the story when the script bears hardly any resemblance to it. People will like the film if they enjoy old Hollywood 'weepy' type movies. Of its type, it's very well done. But if you don't like that kind of film I shouldn't bother seeking it out. -- Colin
