Elizabeth, I was touched by your expression of longing. However, this is one I'm going to have to sit out. I'm in the position of a father whose dearly loved son - one with whom he has shared some of the sunniest of days - has come home to present to his parents as his intended wife a girl of such unprepossessing looks, such a humourless, tortuous cast of mind, such a deadening presence that one can only withdraw to one's bedroom to weep. Such a contrast to the way in which your new found taste for orthography has lit up with its charm & vernal stylishness this weary old heart. With renewed thanks & loving regards. Scottie B.
