In an early September issue of the New Yorker there was a story which stated that the second-in-charge to the dalai lamai had died and that his replacement was being held by the chinese, who were putting forward their own candidate. also, this lamai is the one who is responsible for the selection of the next dalai lamai, so if this incident isn't resolved it could mean the end of Tibetan Buddhism. -Torrence
