Meghan...Your observations are interesting to me, because I too spent much
of my youth reading but I don't remember paying any attention to punctuation
as I read. When I was in public schools there was a fair amount of emphasis
on grammar but I sadly didn't pay much attention (its an even bet that I was
doing personal reading during the lesson). Now I wish I had a better grasp
of it all...Walter

I can't recall ever receiving a proper grammer lesson in school, except for
once in 4th grade. The only reason I remember it is because I cheated on the
last question, and I got it wrong. Incidently, the answer to the question
was a semi-colon, and I still do not know when to use a semi-colon. I do
have to say that because I read a lot when I was a kid(infact thats pretty
much all I ever did), I had learned a lot about grammer from observing the
way it was used in books.
