hey there...i'm new to the list...my name is andrew... i myself, like ellen, have been compared to holden by various people, and i consider it to be one of the nicest compliments you could give me...but there is always this part of me that doesn't want to end up like holden...alienated and abused...so my question is: do you think holden's "great fall" (as mr antolini put it) can be best attributed to his personality or to something else? i have heard different theories considering that, including that holden was schizophrenic...i'd love to hear ideas from you guys concerning this...you seem like a very eclectic group... also, to the best of my knowledge, salinger is a zen buddhist...
