Look, if you believe in what you're doing and really want to do it, go for it. But DO EXPECT LOTS OF REJECTION. 38 rejections is not unusual. This is what happens to both the best and the worst. But let me tell you how to avoid some of it -- and it's been mentioned before. Networking. I went to a literary conference in 1997, and just through casual conversation met magazine editors (both literary and a slick),college professors, and professional writers. I had something published as a result. What meeting them did for me was motivate THEM, the chief editor, to read my work. From that point it would stand and fall on its own. That's the most you can hope for. So do the same thing in the film community you want to join. If you're an immigrant of some kind you may be "interesting" to them, esp. if you've "suffered" somehow (just be interesting about it and not self-righteous). Good luck :) Jim
