I went back to `9 Stories' (or as it is commonly called in earlier editions
out here `For Esme With Love & Squalor and Other Stories') this week too. I
still like DDS but find it a little more arch than I remember it. In fact,
what's with Salinger's Witty Urbane voice? On one hand it's entertaining
but on the other hand you want to tell him to send Carl Luce away and go
get Holden Caulfield again. Sorry. Had a strange and bizarre weekend that
saw me end up in hospital. And no, I don't want to talk about it (:
