RE: Fight Club finished and Beck's new cd

OK, so I finished Fight Club last night. Because of the book's breakneck pace
I was sort of surprised when I turned the page and there was nothing else to
read. I probably need more time to evaluate the book but when I put the book
down I didn't really think about it anymore until now. Ya there were some
nice ideas presented but....well where is the clincher? I don't know, I just
think that if Palahniuk had wanted to really say something he should have
tried to make a bigger boom with the book. Either way, it was a good read and
I will probably re-read it someday. Maybe when all the Space Monkeys have
taken over the world and we are harvesting potatoes in Central Park.
On another note Beck has a new cd out entitled Sea Change which is absolutely
wonderful. If you go to this link: http://www.the-wood.org/ and on the bottom
right is a link to d/l a special flash interactive program that allows you to
have the entire cd stream on your computer. This is probably only good for
people with broadband connections but it is well worth it if you are able to
check it out. Even those that might not have liked Beck in the past or who
have never heard him before might like this. It is dark and slow and moving
and a joy to listen to. I cannot get enough of it. I plan on buying it after
xmas if no one buys it for me first.
