And I find Hegel and Heidegger and Derrida and Barthes and Joyce and Celine
all quite hypnotic and seductive in their own ways. And the fact that I have
to do some hard work and learn a bunch of related stuff and deal with new
grammars and vocabularies and read a bunch of other texts to understand them
all makes them all the more seductive.

And it has all been rewarding and more than worthwhile in each of the cases
named above.
