I wouldn't say anything about the supposed "Hindu faith" and my blurred
memory of Alsen's book needs to be shaken into some sort of a focus by a
quick re-reading of it but, still and all, the following from Cecelia's post
stands out:

"Alsen completes the book with an explanation
that "Hapworth 16, 1924" is where Buddy
makes it, where he is finally able to let his stars
come out. He's thrown out all trappings of
"rattling good stories" and has written the
beautiful piece that allows him to come to
    terms with Seymour's death..."

So, going by the above, am I right in remembering then that the suggestion
seems to be that, for Alsen, Buddy's made up that Seymour letter - for after
all that's what forms Hapworth, since he offers "no further comment," apart
from typing up "an exact copy of the letter, word for word, comma for
comma."

So, IF that is the case (and I do need to read Alsen again), Buddy's the
ultimate unreliable narrator, forever deluding us by his conjuring tricks,
which may well be called coming up with one falsehood after another, mixing
memory with desire, and happily proceeding to write up history, or at least
selectively revealing it as he pleases, much like creating the ultimate
illusion or Maya (a very powerful & useful concept in all of "Hindu"
thought) -- the myth of St. Suicidee Seymour?

Plenty could be said, I guess, about alleged creators (Buddy, in this case)
and
super-creators outside the Glass Universe, but that would be opening up an
old can of worms,

Sonny
