In today's London Times, one of their correspondents
in the US, Grace Bradberry reports:

''... a wave of phonetical phoniness sweeping through
the worlds of celebrity & fashion. Most people agree
it began with Madonna who, despite growing up
in Detroit, has taken to accepting her gongs with
a distinctly unAmerican 'Thenk kyeeew' .... this tendency
has infiltrated the Manhatten fashion world, where
young editors are over-enunciating, tossing in a continental
'No?' at the end of sentences & using that very English
        qualifier: 'Quite'...''

Gwyneth Paltrow was the only name I recognised from
a large number of other - apparently teddibly stylish - figures
    now affecting this new accent.

So, bananafishers, if you want to keep a breast of the swim
you could do worse than sign on at the Bowman Chicademy
where we are now enrolling students for the Spring Term.
