It's takern me a while to respond to this whole movie thing. Someone summed it all up when they said they hate to see it but can't wait to go. That is what I think Salinger would think of it if it ever happened which I think it never will. I just think of Holden's line that the movie was so awful he couldn't take his eyes off of it. (I'm ruining the quote) Also, I rememeber reading that Salinger was in a few plays when he was in college at Ursinus I think I read. I think it was in Ian Hamilton's book. Just for fantasy's sake I would have like to seen him do the part. He would have been lanky and young enough at that time to pull it off. This offers another question: If this Salinger had aspirations of becoming an actor (which is probably the most visible and outgoing of occupations) what would make him turn into such a recluse. Did he lose faith in the commercial world? Any ideas? Just daydreaming. Suerte John Paul
