Steve G makes an interesting turn in identifying another strand of S's suicide--yes, though too young to know, I imagine dealing with peace after war was tricky and we know jds had his probs with that, and so it's possible S was able to get beyond it with a child's innocence but not a woman's desire...but I don't know if I like that slant...certainly later glass stories could be a cover up of sorts, but I prefer using some eastern thinking (as well as rilke's poetry as Gary Lane did in his article, "Seymour's Suicide Again: A New Reading of J.D.
