Far be it from me to refer to myself as interesting and (or) intelligent... But I have to agree with Sean here... I´m on several other mailing lists, with topics like Stevie Nicks (the singer, mostly known from Fleetwood Mac), John Carpenter (the director) and Fridaythe13th (horror movies in general as it turned out), but none of these lists get my full attention... I read the original post and if it doesn´t interest me I just delete all the feedback without even looking at it... But this list is different... I read ALL the posts with no exceptions... Because they´re all funny, intelligent, informative or beautifully written - and often several of the above at the same time... The diggressions is what makes this list special... I´m sure we could all say something intelligent (more or less) on Salinger if we had to... But we don´t have to constantly keep reminding each other that we can cleverly interpret any word from Salinger´s pen, or how much we know about "the god" JDS... (Meant as a joke, as on the Nicks-list Stevie is more often than not referred to as "the goddess"... Oh, dear...) (and yes, I know "god" SHOULD be spelled with a G... Instead I put "should" in capitals...) I also really enjoy the absence of those stupid clichés that flood most lists... "imho"??? If you have an opinion, why be humble about it??? "just my 2 cents" (or the "funny" variation: "just my $0.02")??? How come everyone´s opinions seems to be so cheap??? Opinions are valuable in my book - and certainly more than 2 cents... Hmmm, this post got considerably longer than my usual short msgs... So without further chit-chat I´ll go straight to THE END Abra
