If you felt like he manipulated you in an honest way, no
harm done. I felt cheated and bored. I like being
manipulated by a book, besides Helter Skelter type books,
if the reader doesn't distract me with his own thought
process. It's more obvious in some stories than it is
with others. I've got the annoying added distraction of
reading stories from the author's perspective since I
started to take writing seriously. I can't enjoy stories
like I used to and it's entirely my loss. The fact is, I
thought A Boy in France was cheap, constructed like it
were made of popsicle sticks and glue with a 'scary' eek
mouse hidden inside.

If I said or implied that, I take it back. I might give
that appearance because I feel like I can say anything I
want to. If you think I'm mouthy now, you should've seen
me n high school. Opinions are important to have, Grant,
I wouldn't throw you down for it if you called J.D. a
hippopotamus with dyslexia, but I would try to prove
myself right.
