M&J, I agree. Jitterbug Perfume is good also, but then so are most of his books. For me, Roadside Attraction was the best by far. I really can’t say why. Maybe reading it partly in the Jungles of Sumatra (and partly in the high altitude Sumatran mountains, finally being able to sleep without sweating) made it extra special. That’s the problem and bliss with everything you do: the context in which you have your experience always mix in.
