OK, guys: Anybody who has read them, please give me your take on it: I've read at least 4 Tom Bodett books, starting with The Last Decent Parking Space In America. It's a series about a small town in Alaska. The trouble is, they're so damned mesmerizing, I can't decide whether it's a sublime wisdom that I can't put my finger on, or just the simple guilty pleasure of brain candy. What's your take on them? Either way, I love them, and, in fact, I checked one out on audiocassette & it made a dandy companion for a road trip a couple years ago...
