Love Peter Carey to pieces, that's why I mentioned him. I actually read Tim
Winton too -- The Riders, no? (For the rest of you, a story of a father and
his daughter whose mother abandons them in their new place in Ireland. Quite
damned touching & well-written). Not to mention Jane Campion, the lovely
Blanchett lass ... and on and on.
	What's going on with the return to Puritanism everywhere? Jesus, it almost
scares me as much as the militias here and the general politics of the Indian
subcontinent in ... well, the Indian subcontinent. What the hell's going on?
