I loved Oscar and Lucinda so much, I want to just burst...but I'm a real man,
so screw that. No, but it was indeed a great one, so imaginative and touching
and ... "Australian" in all of the ways I understand you downunderdogs, all of
the good ways.
	And then to put Ralph Fiennes in the movie (not to mention the lovely
Blanchett lass who, in retrospect, would have made the English Patient even
more perfect), well Jesus. Coming off of the English Patient, which I am still
not able to remove from my frontal lobe and almost every waking thought, to
combine these two brilliant works of art from former subjects of the Queen in
that way ... it would all be just too precious if I wasn't so tough and manly.
(: or weren't, depending on your grasp of subjunctives. Or whatever the hell
pluperfect means. Whatever.
