Well, folks, it saddens me a bit--particularly since discussion has just now started to perk up a bit, after the long recession we've been suffering--but now it's time to make my exit. E-mail has begun to dominate *far* too much of my time, and 98% of my E-mail is bananafish...and now I've got finals, and after the semester ends, I'd like to spend a nice summer with my lovely girlfriend and as little of the Internet as possible. I'm not sure who-all was here when I arrived around last November, aside from Malcolm and Will and Jim and Bethany and Peggy and (of course) Tim--the resident Yogi--but thank you all, named and un-named, and thank you particularly to Camille and Scottie for the shaking-up toward the end there. Scottie, I gotta admit, I couldn't stand you at first, but your brand of brilliance just takes a little fine tuning of the ear to appreciate. It's hard, on E-mail, to distinguish between abuse and a good-natured walloping; in fact, it's hard to distinguish in e-mail between any nuances, which is one of the reasons I'm not having too hard a time cutting the habit. :) I've learned a great deal from this list, intellectually and ethically and humanly (?)--so much that I won't bother attempting to go into it. But I think you know what I mean. I'll make periodical checks to the archived digests to see what I've missed, and perhaps quietly subscribe once in awhile for nostalgia's sake, and maybe engage in a good spar or two. I'm sure you're not holding your respective breaths. If there's anything really good, someone forward it to me. suburbantourist@hotmail.com Thanks again. Feel free to keep in touch if you feel like being slightly annoyed. Malcolm, I'll be in touch with you anyway. Thank you to everyone else. It feels great to have taken part in the continuing history of Salinger, even peripherally. Good-night, folks. Sleep tight, and don't let the bedbugs bite. Bed-bugs, for chrissake!
