yes, there are actually only maybe 6 pages that deal with "the salinger
experience" directly. i can let you know the pages to read tomorrow if you

Over the years, there have been a number of pilgrims/writers/journalists
who have gone to Cornish, found Salinger, and forced themselves on him,
eventually turning the experience into some kind of article.
One that I have in my file is by a fellow named Greg Herriges. I'm
fairly sure that he got rudely treated (if I have the name right, he may
be the guy of whom JDS demanded, "Are you mentally ill? Are you being
treated?" (!)
As I was doing some digging for another source, I happened on this Adobe
Acrobat file. It's an "e-book" in PDF format by Herriges, about his
life and his contact with JDS. It's quite long (100 pages) and seems to
go into details about his encounter with JDS. I haven't read it
carefully yet, but will start tonight.
