(Yes, I meant Sir Christopher (: ) The saddest thing is, it's probably a lot of the Holden Caulfields of the world who, via throwing paper clips at the nearest stenographer, end up becoming the thing they hate most, their spirits crushed, their hopes unsubstantiated ... try as I might I have never quite been able to work out what `happened' to Holden in the same way I might about other fictional characters. He is a character so firmly enmeshed in the moment that, like Holden himself, it's nearly impossible to predict his future beyond strange fantasies like running away to a log cabin.
